West Bengal to chop tax by Re 1 per litre on petrol, diesel from Monday


Kolkata: The West Bengal authorities on Sunday (February 21) introduced a discount of tax by Re 1 per litre on petrol and diesel efficient from midnight of Monday (February 22).

State Finance Minister Amit Mitra mentioned the transfer will present some respite to folks stung by burgeoning costs of gasoline.

In the meantime, on Saturday petrol in Delhi stood at Rs 90.19/litre, a rise of 31 paise and diesel costs stood at Rs 80.60/litre, a rise by 33 paise. Moreover, petrol in Kolkata stood at Rs 91.41/litre and diesel costs stood at Rs 84.19/litre.
